“What A Waste Of Talent” – Konnan Blasts AEW

AEW

Former WCW US Champion Konnan has hit out at Tony Khan and AEW for the handling of two of the company’s current champions.

With Full Gear now coming into sharp focus for AEW, two of the company’s champions have been singled out with the company criticised for the way they have been presented on television as of late.

Wardlow was on top of the world back in May as he was set to finally get his hands on MJF at Double Or Nothing. The War Dog did get his retribution on his former boss but the whole feud was overshadowed by MJF’s actions away from the ring which led to a hiatus for the star over the summer.

Since then Wardlow has captured the TNT Championship but to many, he has lost the momentum he had built leading to his split with MJF. He was recently attacked by Samoa Joe, bringing their short WarJoe partnership to an untimely end.

Jade Cargill is still undefeated in AEW and as TBS Champion she has racked up successful title defence after successful title defence. She is currently in the midst of a feud with Nyla Rose that will lead to the two women facing off at Full Gear after Rose stole Cargill’s title belt.

Speaking on his Keepin’ It 100 podcast, Konnan hit out at AEW and booker Tony Khan for the handling of Wardlow and Jade Cargill in recent months, lambasting it as a waste of their talents:

“Bro, What a waste of talent with Wardlow and Jade Cargill, specifically. Everything they’ve done with them has been brutal, the WarJoe name… everything bro! They’ve done a really bad job with him. They had something really hot. Jade looks like a star just standing there and they don’t do her any favors either.”
