Wardlow “Very Depressed” Amid AEW Absence

Wardlow stands on-stage at AEW Double or Nothing 2022

Wardlow isn’t happy with having been away from AEW.

Wardlow hasn’t been seen in All Elite Wrestling since losing the TNT Championship to Luchasaurus (with assistance from Christian Cage) on the June 17th debut episode of Collision. The star had been champion since April, winning the belt for the third time with a victory over Powerhouse Hobbs on the April 19th episode of Dynamite.

Despite no reports that he’s injured, the three-time TNT Champion disappeared from television after losing his title, and speaking on a panel at Terrificon via Fandom Spotlight, he indicated he’s not happy with not being factored into creative plans.

“So, I’ve been off TV for almost a couple of months and I’ve been very depressed. Wrestling is my everything, it makes me happy.”

Continuing, Wardlow addressed his loss on Collision and told fans he hopes to be back in the ring soon.

“It was a rough start for me on Collision, I do not know when I’ll be back, hopefully soon.”

Wardlow Thanked Fans For Their Support During His AEW Absence

Wardlow also took the opportunity to thank the fans in attendance at Terrificon, saying the support from them was a great boost to his spirits.

“Today I feel like me again for the first time in months. So, I just want to say thank you guys for coming out because you guys really, really flipped a switch in my mind, and my heart that I needed.”

In a recent interview, Wardlow spoke about wanting to change backstage politics in AEW.
