Wardlow Discusses Which Legends Have Given Him Advice
Wardlow may be one of the most dominant members of the AEW roster but The Pinnacle member has discussed which legendary influences behind the scenes have helped him grow.
The War Dog was first introduced to the AEW faithful via a vignette that played during All Out in 2019. He then debuted in person in November of that year instantly aligning himself with MJF as he attacked MJF’s bitter rival at the time, Cody Rhodes.
Since then ‘Mr. Mayhem’ has had quite the rise in AEW, joining MJF in Inner Circle before being revealed as part of The Pinnacle alongside MJF, FTR, Shawn Spears, and Tully Blanchard.
Speaking to former WCW announcer Mark Madden, Wardlow discussed the advice he has been receiving from some of wrestling’s legends in the AEW locker room:
“There’s a few actually, Billy Gunn has given me a lot of great advice. Great mind. Billy Gunn, Paul Wight, [and] now that Mark Henry’s there, he has given me a lot of insight. [Also], Jake ‘The Snake.’ Man, Jake has really really taken a liking to me and really wants to see me grow. Jerry Lynn, [too]. I mean, — we’re surrounded by such great minds and talent, and we’re very lucky to sit under that tree of legends and knowledge.”
The hugely impressive Wardlow has a 22-5 career record in All Elite Wrestling. He was a part of The Pinnacle’s team in both the Blood and Guts and Stadium Stampede matches earlier in 2021.
Most recently Wardlow was the fourth ‘Labour of Jericho’ that Chris Jericho had to get through to reach his eventual goal of facing MJF in a one-on-one match. Despite dominating Jericho, a well-placed baseball bat shot and a Judas Effect were enough for Jericho to claim the victory over Wardlow.
