Vince Russo Says Ex-Champion Is Done With WWE
One of Vince Russo’s cherished traits is his outspokenness.
The former WWE head writer didn’t mince words when speaking about the recent injury suffered by an ex-champion on Raw.
The wrestler in question is Zoey Stark, who endured a legitimate injury during her triple threat match involving Rhea Ripley and Kairi Sane for a spot in the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match.
Speaking on his talk show with former WWE wrestler Stevie Richards, Russo expressed concern about the increasing number of injuries to performers.
Referencing Stark’s previous injury, wherein she was out of action for about 9 months, Russo said:
Guys, I am telling you right now. Because of this injury, she is going to be out for a very long time. She’s done with the WWE. You will never, ever see her working in the WWE again because now they’ve got the label ‘injury-prone.’
Vince Russo Notices Growing Injury Trend With NXT Female Wrestlers
Russo also highlighted that injuries like Stark’s have become commonplace among female NXT wrestlers.
Expressing shock, Russo said that new talents from NXT, who are promoted to the red or blue brand, struggle to thrive beyond three months.
Touching upon the injury issue, Richards vaguely mentioned the presence of an 18-month cap for injured non-top-tier wrestlers in WWE.
