Vince McMahon’s Netflix Doc Ratings Revealed

Vince McMahon

The new Vince McMahon documentary has got people talking.

Despite first being discussed back in 2020, it wasn’t until September 25th that “Mr. McMahon” finally premiered on Netflix. The six-part docuseries that looked back on the life and many controversies of Vince McMahon was originally supposed to have involvement from WWE Films, but plans were changed.

The documentary underwent several changes during production, especially after McMahon was named in a lawsuit alleging sexual assault and sex trafficking along with WWE and John Laurinaitis. The filing of the lawsuit in January 2024 by former WWE employee Janel Grant caused major changes to the series, with the allegations addressed in the final episode.

However, it was noted throughout the documentary that many of the interviews were conducted before the lawsuit was filed. It was at this point that McMahon ended his own involvement.

Upon release, the documentary was criticised by many long-time fans for not diving deeply enough into the several scandals that have surrounded McMahon. Despite this, it still threw up several talking points including controversial comments from McMahon and Steve Austin concerning Chris Benoit and CTE.
