Ashante Adonis Reveals Vince McMahon Thinks Of WWE As “A Movie Production”
Former WWE Superstar Ashante ‘Thee’ Adonis has revealed that Vince McMahon told Hit Row that WWE is “a move production”.
Tehuti Miles – known in WWE as Ashante Adonis – was a part of the Hit Row faction alongside Swerve Strickland, B-Fab, and Top Dolla. The group were a popular act in NXT before being called up to SmackDown during the 2021 WWE Draft.
However, soon after the four joined the main roster, B-Fab was released from her WWE contract and was followed by the rest of the group two weeks later.
During a recent appearance on The Angle Podcast, Ashante Adonis gave fans an insight into the mind of WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. Adonis explained that McMahon once told Hit Row to think of WWE as a movie production with them as actors who did their own stunts.
“Vince McMahon told us, us as in Hit Row, he told us to our faces that this is a movie production and we’re the actors who do our own stunts. That’s coming from Vince McMahon. So if he’s saying that, maybe people should start thinking about this a little differently.”
The idea that Vince McMahon sees WWE as closer to Hollywood than the pro wrestling business has been referenced in the past. In the behind-the-scenes documentary film Beyond The Mat, released in 1999, McMahon gave his famous quote that in WWE “we make movies pal.”
