Vince McMahon & WWE Facing Bizarre, Handwritten Lawsuit
Vince McMahon is facing yet another lawsuit, but this one is stranger than most.
WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is no stranger to legal troubles, having recently been served with a grand jury subpoena as part of an ongoing federal investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct and hush money payments.
As part of WWE’s second quarter 2023 financial filings to the Securities and Exchange Commission, the company has confirmed that “On July 17, 2023, federal law enforcement agents executed a search warrant and served a federal grand jury subpoena on Mr. McMahon. No charges have been brought in these investigations.” McMahon continues to deny intentional wrongdoing in the matter.
Now, according to court documents obtained by PWInsider, McMahon and WWE are the subject of a bizarre new lawsuit that involves Alexa Bliss.
Why Is Vince McMahon Being Sued?
PWInsider reports that Dana W. Wiley is suing Vince McMahon and WWE in the United States District Court of The Western District of Pennsylvania. Wiley is alleging a breach of contract and failure to reimburse a $5,500 “down payment hangout, what app email contract to personal fan meet World Wrestling Entertainment employee Alexia (sic) Bliss” on 6/30.
The report notes that the lawsuit is handwritten and also alleges that McMahon breached an agreement for WWE to employ Wiley at a salary of $70,000 per month. PWInsider writes:
In the lawsuit, Wiley alleges McMahon discriminated against him after “Plaintiff was arrested and charge (sic) for attempted homicide, aggravate (sic) assault against New Castle, Pennsylvania Law Enforcement on 10/22/22 order the United States Secret Service and Pennsylvania State Police Troop, D. major case team to possess a warrant to unlawful seized Search I, Plaintiff phone device and property in conspiracy theory plot to obstruct and destroy any evidence supporting these facts that World Wrestling Entertainment employee Alexia (sic) Bliss email text to I, Plaintiff hangout, what app email business accounts.”
Wiley is seeking $6 million for breach of contract as well as the reimbursement of all legal fees.
Needless to say, no one has been served yet.
This isn’t the first time that Dana Wiley has attempted to sue both McMahon and the WWE. He previously filed lawsuits against McMahon and the members of DX and the nWo, alleging that he signed a fair use contract for those trademarks on the steps of a Pennsylvania courthouse after being arrested for an unrelated criminal case. While Wiley claims his right to those trademarks were ignored for 20 years and he deserved to be paid, the lawsuit was dismissed.
