Is Vince McMahon Really Working With FOX For New Wrestling Show
A fresh batch of rumors suggests that Vince McMahon isn’t done with pro wrestling.
Speculation recently emerged that Vince McMahon is planning a surprise return to the wrestling industry. According to Eric Bischoff and Conrad Thompson on the 83 Weeks podcast, there have been whispers that McMahon has been in touch with people with experience in shooting wrestling and that FOX Sports could also be involved.
The comments quickly spread far and wide with many fans believing there may be something to it. After all, it was reported back in October that Vince McMahon is planning to launch an entertainment company when his legal struggles come to an end. This included recruiting former high-ranking WWE figures for the project.
It should be noted that both Bischoff and Thompson were incredibly wary of putting too much stock in the rumors.
Fox Issues Vince McMahon Denial
However, despite the buzz online, it seems that at least part of the speculation isn’t true. As reported by The Athletic’s sports media correspondent Andrew Marchand, a Fox spokesman has denied any links to the potential new endeavor.
“There is a report that Vince McMahon might start a wrestling company with Fox as a partner. If McMahon is planning that or not, I don’t know, but the Fox part is not true, according to a network spokesman,”
In January 2024, Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis, alleging sex trafficking and sexual abuse. Shortly after the filing was made, McMahon stepped down from his role with the TKO Group, while Laurinaitis had already left WWE.
The lawsuit is ongoing.
