Vince McMahon Slams Triple H For Disrespecting Hulk Hogan In Final WWE Appearance

Stephanie McMahon Triple H Vince McMahon WWE

Hulk Hogan’s final WWE appearance came at the debut of Monday Night RAW on Netflix on January 6, 2025, in Los Angeles.

Rather than a hero’s welcome befitting a wrestling legend, The Hulkster was met with a hostile reaction. The crowd at the Intuit Dome booed him loudly, a reaction that visibly affected the wrestling icon, who passed away later in July.

While Hulk Hogan had anticipated some boos due to his controversial past and heel days, the overwhelming negativity caught many off guard. The moment was disappointing for fans who remember Hogan as one of WWE’s greatest stars, casting a shadow over what should have been a celebrated farewell.

Vince McMahon’s Reaction to Hulk Hogan’s Final Appearance

In the documentary, TMZ presents The Real Hulk Hogan, Vince McMahon expressed deep frustration over how Hogan’s final WWE segment was handled. McMahon said WWE and Triple H didn’t handle it very well and imagined how upset the late star must have felt afterwards.

“It wasn’t set up properly. I’m sure he was probably despondent after that. I was angry because we’ve known each other for a lifetime, professionally and personally. Setting up, so to speak, this larger than life super hero, you don’t just let him walk out there. He deserved something very, very special. More than anyone, they owe him. It’s just like, ‘Okay, here comes Hulk Hogan.’ I got angry because that’s not the way I would have done it and he deserved much more,” said Mr. McMahon. [H/T to Fightful]

Mark Henry on Hulk Hogan’s Racist Comments

The documentary also revisited the painful reality of Hulk Hogan’s racist remarks, which forever complicated his legacy. Mark Henry, WWE Hall of Famer and one-time admirer of Hogan, spoke candidly about the hurt caused by those comments.

Henry said, “He said, in his words, that he was a racist. Why would I sit here and try to defend somebody that tells you who they were? It hurt. It hurt. I grew up watching the dude. I used to love that dude. I wanted to be like him. It hurts.”

Henry revealed he suggested to Vince McMahon that Hogan should make genuine amends by touring historically Black colleges and honestly apologizing, but this idea was dismissed. Despite Hogan’s undeniable impact on wrestling entertainment, the shadow of his remarks remains a source of pain for many, including Henry. Yet, Henry concluded, Hogan’s contributions to wrestling as a performer and entertainer cannot be erased.
