Vince McMahon Surprisingly Praised By WWE Legend
Vince McMahon has been a polarizing figure in WWE for a long time.
That narrative continues even after he was accused of sexual assault and trafficking by a former employee. While some wrestlers feel uncomfortable mentioning his name, others refuse to say anything negative due to the opportunities they received under him.
A former wrestler has now come to the fore to praise the 80-year-old for being an excellent promoter.
While speaking on Wrestling Life Online, Ken Shamrock called Vince McMahon a genius while detailing what he experienced firsthand during his time in the Stamford promotion.
Vince, which again, people have their thoughts about Vince, but Vince is a genius when it comes to pro wrestling. He was able to do so many things in different times in different eras to inject WWF back into the mainstream audience to where it became popular again because so many times, 10, 15 years, they take dips and a lot of people don’t come back from it.
But Vince was able to always change the culture to where he would see what’s going on in the world and what the vibes are and to try to build characters and matches around what people want to see. And he did it better than anyone and to keeping it going as long as he did was just incredible. [H/T: WrestlingInc]
The Ken Shamrock-Vince McMahon Feud
Ken Shamrock’s signing by WWE was monumental due to his stellar reputation in UFC earlier.
Shamrock feuded with the likes of The Hart Foundation, The British Bulldog, and The Rock before joining Vince McMahon’s ‘The Corporation’ in late 1998.
While in the faction, he continued his feuds, often chasing the Intercontinental Championship.
The Corporation would pick up a feud with The Undertaker’s Ministry of Darkness in 1999.
Despite being a loyalist to McMahon, the boss did little when The Deadman kidnapped Shamrock’s sister as part of the storyline, resulting in him turning on Vince.
Shamrock would then form The Union, also comprising Big Show, Test, and Mankind, to go up against The Ministry, as his feud with The Corporation fizzled out.
