Vince McMahon Let 2 WWE Stars Decide WrestleMania Outcome

Whilst Vince McMahon is known for having full control of creative, there was one time he let the wrestlers decide the victor in a huge match.

As head of creative, all final decision are well known to have to the final when it comes to any results and storylines. You’d expect this to be the case even moreso when it comes to ‘The Showcase Of The Immortals’, however Kurt Angle has now revealed that he was allowed to decide the winner when it came to one of his matches.

The culmination of the Olympic gold medalist’s feud with Shawn Michaels came at WrestleMania 21, with Angle going on to win the contest.

In a discussion on his Kurt Angle Show, the former World Champion revealed that he and Michaels were allowed to choose who won the match, with ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ suggesting it was Angle.

Listen, there’s no doubt in my mind that if Shawn was going to lose at WrestleMania to me, I’m gonna have to pay it back. There’s no doubt about it. Yes, that’s how it works. And I don’t blame him. I was willing to do that, because he did me a huge favour.

Actually, Vince didn’t have a winner for WrestleMania. He had us work it out between ourselves. And Shawn said, Listen, I’ll put you over. Because I know, this is what he said, and I totally forgot this. He said, You know what, you’re gonna end up doing a programme with Cena afterward, and what you need is a good win right now.

So that is why I knew that I was going to work with Cena, even though I didn’t, I thought it was going to work with Cena. Yeah, because Shawn told me, you should get the win right here because you’re going to be paired up against John Cena after this.

Kurt Angle also recently revealed that he “didn’t have a business mind” early on in his WWE career.
