Reason Vince McMahon Scrapped Seth Rollins Raw Open Challenge Revealed

Vince McMahon Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins had issued an open challenge for Monday Night Raw but in the end, no one got to accept it and it appears Vince McMahon was behind that decision.

Instead of someone stepping up to challenge Rollins for his WWE World Heavyweight Championship, the champion was brutally attacked by Finn Balor who declared that nobody but him was getting to defeat Rollins for the title.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that the Seth Rollins open challenge was scrapped by Vince McMahon as he wanted to showcase and get heat on Finn Balor:

“The open challenge was supposed to happen till the last minute. Vince changed – the first 30 minutes of the show, I heard, was totally changed.

“Vince really wanted this. The whole Seth Rollins angle with Finn Balor, I think he just wanted something big, something bigger for Seth Rollins and Finn Balor, just to heat up Finn Balor. To be fair, I know people who are there who told me, ‘Look, as far as the 30 minutes that Vince put in, it was better than the 30 minutes that was taken out’.”

Seth Rollins and Finn Balor will meet one-on-one for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Money In The Bank in London, England. That event could be a big night for The Judgment Day with Damian Priest in the men’s Money In The Bank match and Dominik Mysterio taking on Cody Rhodes.
