Vince McMahon Files New Motion Relating Janel Grant Lawsuit

Vince McMahon

The legal wrangling between Vince McMahon and Janel Grant continues.

On July 16th, Janel Grant’s team filed a pre-action discovery petition against Dr. Carlon Colker and his clinic, Peak Wellness, Inc. This relates to claims from Grant that she was sent to the clinic by McMahon in 2019 and given treatments that were not disclosed to her.

In Grant’s original complaint from January, it’s alleged that McMahon recruited a “Physical Therapist” from an “Alternative Clinic” to participate in threesomes with himself and Grant. Grant claims she was forced into these sex acts and others by the former WWE boss.

McMahon claimed this petition violated the court-ordered stay of Grant’s lawsuit which was confirmed in May.

As a result, McMahon and his team have filed a new motion to have the stay lifted. You can find an excerpt from the filing below.

“Mr. McMahon now asks the Court for a limited lifting of the stay to permit the filing and adjudication of his Motion to Enforce the Court’s Stay Order.”

Vince McMahon’s Lawyer Issues New Statement

In a statement issued to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomincs, McMahon’s lawyer said the motion was in response to Grant’s “flagrant violation” of the federal Stay Order.

Today’s motion is in response to Ms. Grant’s flagrant violation of the federal Stay Order. After telling the Federal Court that she would pause her lawsuit, Ms. Grant immediately violated the Stay Order seeking one-sided discovery for her own benefit. Her lawyer told the media that the information sought in the new Connecticut state action is ‘to assist in our claims in the federal action.’ We are asking the federal Court to ensure that Plaintiff abides by the Court’s order and if she does not that civil contempt and financial sanctions may result.

Back in January, former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE. The lawsuit contained allegations of sexual assault and sex trafficking, and although he wasn’t named directly, Brock Lesnar was also implicated
