Could Vince McMahon return to WWE TV?

Vince McMahon has been absent from WWE for one and a half years now. In January 2024, he was named in the Janel Grant lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault and sex trafficking. Following the allegations, McMahon resigned from TKO Group and its board of directors, effectively severing ties with the company he built. But there have been rumors that the former WWE boss could make his way back to the Stamford-based promotion.

Brock Lesnar was another star who was named in the Janel Grant lawsuit, and he recently returned to WWE at SummerSlam. According to the reports, he was cleared several weeks before the summer’s biggest PLE. With The Beast Incarnate back in business, fans and critics are wondering if TKO will also allow McMahon to return to the wrestling company.

Vince McMahon is not returning to WWE TV

Speaking on his Story Time podcast, veteran wrestling manager Dutch Mantell gave his thoughts on whether WWE will bring back the ex-WWE Chairman as a character on TV. He stated that the possibility of it being a success is about 10-20%; therefore, it is very unlikely that WWE would risk putting Vince McMahon on TV.

“When he comes back, he has to come back in a way that could be deemed a success. And I don’t think it’ll be successful. So just for that, I’m going to say no. I don’t think there’s any (way he could come back). And Vince is how old? 81 now. (He’s nearly 80). Yeah, okay. I think he’s over that. I think. But I don’t think we’ll see him back on TV. I’ll make that proposal.” [4:36 – 5:07]
