Vince McMahon “Has His Eyes” On WWE Business
Despite his recent retirement, it has been claimed by WWE Chairwoman Stephanie McMahon that Vince McMahon is still very much interested in WWE’s business.
Vince McMahon stepped away from the company he had led for over 40 years amid allegations of sexual misconduct and hush money payments that, at last count, totalled $19.6 million.
Stephanie McMahon was named as WWE’s new Chairwoman and she shares CEO duties with company President Nick Khan. Triple H has been installed as WWE’s Head of Creative as well as Head of Talent Relations – the latter role being one formerly filled by John Laurinaitis.
While this changing of the guard has taken place, Stephanie McMahon has conceded on a quarterly earnings call that Vince McMahon still has his eyes on WWE business as he remains the company’s biggest shareholder:
“Vince McMahon is still very much the controlling shareholder. He still has his eyes for what is best for our business in terms of maximizing return to our shareholders, of which he is the biggest shareholder.”
“Nick [Khan], Paul [Levesque], Frank [Riddick], and I remain focused on delivering the maximum results to our shareholders. We will properly evaluate any opportunity that comes our way with that lens in mind.”
