Why Vince McMahon Formed WWE Faction Despite Hating The Idea

Vince McMahon wasn’t someone who would hear a good storyline and bypass it. However, he always had the final say over whether or not the storyline would make it to TV.

Not everyone pitched storylines to The Big Man, and among those who did, not everyone was successful.

Natalya explained how she pitched her idea to Vince McMahon and why it was approved

When Vince McMahon led WWE, The Great Khali was a prominent figure among the fans. However, he was too big to drive a car, which led WWE to urge other superstars to drive him and receive incentives in return.

During that time, Khali stopped at a friend’s house for dinner. He and Natalya ended up staying in the house for the night. The next morning, Natalya finally found her voice and confidence to ask Khali to get inside the car so they could go to the next town.

On What’s Your Story? With Steph McMahon, Nattie revealed that after finding her confidence with The Great Khali, she realized that she needed to ask for things she wanted. This led her to make her first pitch to Vince McMahon. The Big Man did not like the story but went with it because Natalya took the initiative.

This is how The Hart Dynasty was born.

I went and pitched after that incident with Khali that very next Monday at Raw, I went and pitched the storyline to Vince. And he was, he said, he goes, he said, this is not a good idea, and I don’t like it. He goes, I don’t like it, it doesn’t make any sense. And we’re not going in that direction. But because you came to me, we’ll go with it.

And we went with it. And that’s how The Hart Dynasty came about. And that’s one thing that with Vince is that he would listen.
I could go in, I would go and pitch, and he would tell me why it didn’t work. But he still liked people taking initiative.
