Vince McMahon Documentary Will “Pull Back The Curtain”

Vince McMahon

A long-awaited Vince McMahon documentary finally has a release date.

Back in 2020, it was revealed that a new documentary was being produced on the life and career of Vince McMahon. However, the docuseries has been affected by delays and several changes after McMahon was hit by allegations of sexual misconduct that summer which led to his ‘retirement’ from WWE.

In January 2024, former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE. The lawsuit contained allegations of sexual assault and sex trafficking.

There had been speculation the documentary had been dropped as a result of the allegations, but it’s been announced it will premiere on Netflix on September 25th.

Vince McMahon Documentary Will Examine “Complex Legacy”

Speaking to Variety, director and executive producer Chris Smith said that the series will offer a “rich and nuanced” look at the disgraced former WWE boss.

“The goal behind ‘Mr. McMahon’ was to pull back the curtain and reveal the true Vince McMahon, obscured beneath the persona he presented to the world,” he said. “Over the four years of production, the story evolved in truly shocking ways, culminating in some extremely harrowing allegations.

The final product is a revealing documentary that we believe offers a rich and nuanced portrait of the man and the complex legacy he left behind.”

It should be noted that neither Janel Grant nor her team were interviewed for the documentary.
