Vince McMahon Doc Coming Sooner Than You Think

Vince McMahon has had a life like no other and now it seems the Netflix documentary on the former WWE Chairman is closer than ever.

The project has been in the works since 2020 and will provide an insight into the life of one of pro wrestling’s most influential figures. Recently, the Executive Producer of the documentary, Bill Simmons, added more intrigue to proceedings when he revealed that Vince McMahon will have no say in the final cut. Simmons also noted that he believed it would be released in the first part of 2024 and it looks like that will be the case.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed he has been interviewed for the documentary and says its release is sooner than most people might think:

Today I went to Los Angeles to do a Netflix taping (about) Vince McMahon. I guess what I can say because I’m not supposed to say much about it, is the Netflix series is gonna be out sooner than you think. I guess that’s the best way to put it. I’ll know the date, I’ll be able to release the date pretty soon. It’s soon.

It’s a big freakin’ deal. They’ve interviewed all kinds of people. I was told the most interesting person they’ve interviewed is Vince McMahon.

It’s covering the whole life of Vince McMahon. I’ve been asked about every single subject that you can think of regarding Vince McMahon, from childhood to last week, practically. Covered everything. I’ve done multiple tapings for this. This one was more to catch up on everything that’s happened since the last taping.

The series, when it started, and how it ended are completely different. When it started it was just ‘Vince McMahon, the owner of the company’, and now it’s not the owner of the company, and there’s all the reasons that he’s not the owner of the company, the payoffs – all that stuff happened, they were years into this documentary before all that stuff happened. They kind of had to redo everything or refocus on all kinds of new stuff.

Vince McMahon Sidelined After Endeavor Takeover Of WWE

Many believed that Vince McMahon would be emboldened when Endeavor took over WWE in his new role as Executive Chairman of TKO Group. Instead, McMahon has been very much on the outs of the day-to-day running of WWE with company President Nick Khan and Triple H instead leading things.

Vince McMahon’s long-time ally Kevin Dunn recently quit WWE signalling a continuing changing of the guard at the very top of the company. Dunn’s departure comes just three months after Endeavor completed the takeover of the sports entertainment giant.
