Vince McMahon Dismissed As Desperate With Post-WWE Project

Vince McMahon WWE

Vince McMahon is launching a new entertainment company following his WWE demise and one Hall of Famer thinks it’s his way of seizing back control.

In January 2024, Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis, alleging sex trafficking and sexual abuse. Shortly after the filing was made, McMahon stepped down from his role with the TKO Group, while Laurinaitis had already left WWE. The suit was later paused due to an ongoing federal investigation.

This was followed in October by a second lawsuit filed against Vince McMahon, Linda McMahon, WWE, and TKO. The suit alleges that those named were complicit in the sexual exploitation of children by former ringside announcer and ring crew chief Mel Phillips Jr.

Despite many expecting McMahon to retire given his complicated legal situation and advancing years, it seems that won’t be the case. McMahon is in the process of working to create an “entertainment hub company” that is already interviewing talents regarding projects. However, it is believed to have nothing to do with the wrestling business.

Egomaniac Vince McMahon Exerting His Control

Speaking to Justin Barrasso, former WCW boss Eric Bischoff gave his thoughts on Vince McMahon’s new venture and believes it’s driven by pride and ego:

Vince is wired differently. This new project, it’s pride, it’s ego, which is completely out of control, and we’re seeing remnants of Vince exerting control. He’s a control freak, and he now found himself in a situation where he’s not necessarily in control. I think he’s a little desperate.

He has more money than he can spend in the next three lifetimes. Why not buy a yacht and float around the Caribbean, help some charities, and work on your tan? But that’s not Vince.

Janel Grant’s legal team have already publicly responded to McMahon’s new venture. Grant’s lawsuit is currently on pause while a federal investigation takes place into McMahon but the original six-month pause is due to end in December 2024.
