Vince McMahon Had One Strange Demand For WWE Star’s Debut
Vince McMahon knows what he likes and in the case of current AEW star Saraya, the WWE’s Executive Chairman likes purple.
During her time in WWE Saraya was known as Paige and on the night after WrestleMania 30 she made her main roster debut for the company, shockingly beating AJ Lee to become Divas Champion. But that Raw debut nearly didn’t happen for the first-ever NXT Women’s Champion unless she changed up her look considerably.
Speaking on The Mark Hoke Show, Saraya revealed that Vince McMahon only agreed to her WWE main roster debut on one slightly unusual condition:
“It was Triple H who was the one like pitching for me to go on the main roster and Vince (McMahon) was like, ‘Fine! But she has to wear purple’ and that was it.
“So I had to get my purple wrestling gear and I slowly transitioned back into the black again eventually and he didn’t notice again.”
Nowadays, Saraya’s more into green as part of The Outcasts in AEW alongside Toni Storm and Ruby Soho, as they spray the color on the fallen victims in the company.
Saraya also recently had her say on the likelihood of CM Punk returning to AEW following his long-running absence from the company.
