Vince McMahon Issues Statement On Death Of Hulk Hogan
Vince McMahon has paid tribute to Hulk Hogan.
WWE and wrestling legend Hulk Hogan passed away at home on July 24 after suffering cardiac arrest. Hogan was 71 years old.
Hogan began his wrestling career back in 1977 and passed through several territories before landing in the WWF two years later. He then went on to wrestle in Japan and the AWA before returning to the company and taking the world by storm. The WWE Hall of Famer later wrestled for WCW and TNA, competing in his final match in 2012.
Vince McMahon Remembers Hulk Hogan
The careers and wrestling legacies of Vince McMahon and Hulk Hogan will forever be intertwined, as together they helped transform the entire wrestling industry in the 1980s.
During this period, Hogan became a cultural phenomenon, and his star power pushed WWE and McMahon to heights he’d only dreamed of. However, their relationship often proved fractious, and McMahon felt betrayed when Hogan testified during his steroid trial in 1994, even though Hogan’s testimony actually backed up McMahon’s defence.
Two years later, Hogan helped take WCW beyond the WWF with the creation of the nWo, but when the company ultimately failed in 2001, he made a remarkable return to WWE less than a year later.
Although this second run fell apart over money and creative, Hogan continued to make several more returns, right up until early 2025.
In a rare post on social media, McMahon shared his own tribute to Hogan, calling him a “trailblazer” and “consummate performer.”
The world lost a treasure today. Hulk Hogan was the greatest WWE Superstar of ALL TIME, someone who was loved and admired around the world. He was a trailblazer, the first performer who transitioned from being a wrestling star into a global phenomenon.
His grit and unbridled thirst for success were unparalleled – and made him the consummate performer. He gave everything he had to the audience whom he appreciated, respected, and loved.
He leaves us with one of his favorite expressions, “Train, take your vitamins and say your prayers.”
Today, we pray for him.
Tributes have steadily poured in for Hulk Hogan with even U.S. Vice President JD Vance paying his respects.
