Vince McMahon Court Motion Denied

Vince McMahon

A judge has denied Vince McMahon’s latest court motion.

On July 16th, Janel Grant’s team filed a pre-action discovery petition against Dr. Carlon Colker and his clinic, Peak Wellness, Inc. This relates to claims from Grant that she was sent to the clinic by McMahon in 2019 and given treatments that were not disclosed to her.

Grant had previously alleged that McMahon recruited a “Physical Therapist” from an “Alternative Clinic” to participate in threesomes with the pair. Grant claims she was forced into these sex acts and others by the former WWE boss.

In response, Vince McMahon and his team argued that the petition violated a court-ordered stay of Grant’s lawsuit which was confirmed in May.

In a statement shared with the media, McMahon’s lawyer said the motion was in response to Grant’s “flagrant violation” of the federal Stay Order.

Vince McMahon Motion Denied

As first reported by Wrestlenomics, Judge Jeffrey Meyer ruled on August 6th to deny the motion filed by McMahon.

“Federal district courts do not ordinarily regulate or sit in review of proceedings in state courts, and the Court’s stay order did not purport to extend to any state court proceedings,” Meyer wrote, in text that’s viewable on the public docket for the case. “If there is any objection to state court proceedings, relief should be should in state court rather than in this Court. Accordingly, the Court DENIES defendant McMahon’s motion to enforce the Court’s stay order for failure to show that there has been a violation of the Court’s stay order.”

Back in January, former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE. The lawsuit contained allegations of sexual assault and sex trafficking.
