Vince McMahon & AEW Referenced As CM Punk & Seth Rollins Get Personal
Nothing was off the table as Vince McMahon, AEW, Colt Cabana, and Becky Lynch were all referenced when CM Punk came face-to-face with Seth Rollins on WWE Raw.
CM Punk and Seth Rollins will finally clash on the first episode of WWE Raw on Netflix as a decade of bad blood will come to a head.
On the final edition of Raw on the USA Network, Rollins and Punk had a lot to say to one another ahead of that match with nothing left unsaid between the pair. Seth Rollins kicked off by channeling Vince McMahon as he noted CM Punk took his ball and went home in 2014 which brought the former AEW World Champion out to the ring.
Punk took Rollins to task for the “cliched line” and asked if Stone Cold Steve Austin or Becky Lynch had taken their ball and went home as well. Seth Rollins claimed Lynch was raising a child while Austin has publicly noted how much he regretted his 2002 walkout on the company before he referenced the Colt Cabana saga by saying that Punk went “on his buddy’s podcast” to tear down WWE after his exit.
CM Punk Hated Vince McMahon
Seth Rollins also lashed out at CM Punk for signing with “the competition” when he went to AEW in 2021 and asked him how that had worked out. Punk responded to Rollins’ rant by claiming he left WWE because he hated “the guy in charge” who loved Rollins, a thinly veiled dig at disgraced ex-WWE chairman Vince McMahon.
CM Punk vowed to shove the arrows meant to take him out down Rollins’ “corporate throat” while Rollins ended things by calling Punk a cancer that needed to be cut out. WWE Raw’s run on the USA Network and traditional television came to an end with the two stars staring each other down.
