Veteran Claims Tony Khan Only Listens To Top Guys

According to Konnan, Tony Khan should be more careful who he takes advice from.

On November 28th, QT Marshall announced that he’s leaving AEW at the end of 2023. As well as appearing as an on-screen talent, Marshall has been praised for his work backstage where he’s held multiple roles.

It’s believed that central to Marshall’s decision to leave is a desire to establish himself as a wrestler rather than backstage figure, while it’s been reported that he feels AEW is becoming too much like NJPW.

Speaking on his K100 podcast Konnan gave his thoughts on Marshall’s AEW departure. The veteran works regularly with Marshall in AAA, and claimed Tony Khan only takes advice from “top guys” who might not always have the best interests of AEW at heart.

I know for a fact this had been building up,” Konnan said. “He gets paid very well, but he was very frustrated because he does a lot of stuff, and Tony [Khan is] the type of guy who changes his mind last minute. … He only listens to top guys, which some of them don’t have the best interests of the company at heart.”

QT Marshall Heading To WWE Following Tony Khan Frustrations?

Whatever comes next for the AEW star, it seems he won’t be short of offers. It’s been reported that several people within WWE are pushing for QT Marshall to be signed, while there’s also significant interest from MLW.

Marshall has worked extensively with Cody Rhodes in the past and many believe this could play a role in where he goes next.

According to reports there was also some tension between Tony Khan and QT Marshall over his segments being removed from Collision.
