Veteran Believes Chelsea Green Has Backstage Heat In WWE

What’s the deal with Chelsea Green?

Since returning to WWE at the 2023 Royal Rumble, Chelsea Green has become one of the most popular stars in WWE.

Green has earned praise far and wide for her ability to make something out of nothing, and her natural wit and charisma have earned her a place in the hearts of fans. This groundswell of support led to the star being crowned the first-ever Women’s United States Champion.

Since losing the gold to Zelina Vega, Green has remained a regular on SmackDown and most recently featured in a Money In The Bank qualifying match on May 16.

But despite this, one former WWE figure believes Green should also be used on the company’s biggest shows.

Should WWE Do More With Chelsea Green?

On The Last Word from Beyond The Turnbuckle, Jonathan Coachman and his co-hosts, Gabby LaSpisa, and Big Tommy C questioned why WWE is seemingly reluctant to do more with Green. Despite her regular appearances on television, it was pointed out that the star missed WrestleMania and isn’t scheduled to wrestle at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Green also didn’t have a match at Backlash.

While appraising the star, former WWE announcer Coachman described Green as “the most entertaining female star on the roster.” He went on to suggest that Green must have heat with someone backstage, as there can be no other explanation for her high-profile exclusions.

“We have got to a situation in the WWE that, I don’t want to use the word sabotage… but to me, and this sounds really harsh, but there are certain powers at play here that are willing to sacrifice certain shows, endings of shows, and events in order to make a point in the powerplay.

We saw it with Rock at the end of WrestleMania. Nothing else was talked about, but the end of WrestleMania. 13 other matches, not talked about at all because of that finish, and now you’re starting to see more of the same.

And for some reason, something’s going on backstage. Chelsea [Green], you can’t tell me she doesn’t have heat with somebody, and they’re willing to sacrifice an incredible talent that could be on the show, either one, SmackDown or Raw, and help the show. And they’re not using her, over what?”

According to Shotzi, she was scheduled to begin a storyline with Chelsea Green before she was released, but the plans were dropped.
