Veteran AEW Star Blasts Reports Of Backstage Issues

An AEW wrestler has made it clear that he doesn’t have any issues with an on-screen rival.

The Hurt Syndicate’s Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin are former AEW Tag Team Champions, who sometimes wrestle in trios matches with their good friend, MVP.

At AEW WrestleDream, The Hurt Syndicate trio beat Ricochet’s trio group, The Demand, in a Tornado Trios Match that could have been the end of that rivalry.

During The Hurt Syndicate’s run as AEW Tag Team Champions, there were reports about how MVP had issues with “Seedball” Mike Bailey, who is part of the Jetspeed tag team with Kevin Knight.

That report led to a segment on AEW TV between MVP and Bailey where they poked fun at it. Bailey also dismissed any issues when he was asked about it.

While addressing the story on the “Marking Out with MVP” podcast, the former WWE US Champion, MVP, denied the report.

“At no point that I ever say that I dislike Speedball Mike Bailey. I don’t have an issue with Speedball. We work together, we see each other, we shake hands, and we keep it moving like there’s no issue there.”

“I don’t have any problems with any of the talent that I work with at AEW. Mike Bailey’s one of the nicest guys around. My personal opinion is that these people are leeches on my profession. They make a living off of my profession, and they give absolutely nothing.”

“It’s Rumor And Innuendo Gossip Disguised As Journalism” – AEW’s MVP

A frustrated MVP went on to criticize the report of his alleged heat.

“It’s yellow journalism. It’s rumor and innuendo gossip disguised as journalism, because I’ve read so many things through the years reported about me that were just abjectly false. I am honest to a fault. I have never had a problem with saying who I don’t like… And to be honest, as far as I know amongst talent at AEW, I think everybody pretty much gets along.”

MVP also took shots at wrestlers who perform just to try for a good match rating.

“We have a generation of wrestlers that are wrestling for an audience of one instead of the audience that’s in the house, because they want somebody to, you know, give them a favorable star rating.”

The outspoken MVP also took shots at his former employer, WWE, for charging fans too much money for tickets.
