US Senator Channels Ric Flair During FOX News Appearance

Ric Flair Woos to the crowd

With election fever sweeping the United States, one US Senator borrowed a phrase from WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair to sum up his feelings on events.

Ric Flair has often been imitated throughout his illustrious career with one of the most famous moments in TNA history coming when Jay Lethal and The Nature Boy engaged in a ‘Woo off’ with one another.

Now with midterm elections taking place in the US and the races for control of the Senate and Congress going down to the wire, someone from the field of politics has found solace in the words often uttered by Flair during his time at the top of the wrestling industry.

Appearing on Face The Nation, Republican Senator for Arkansas Tom Cotton took inspiration from Ric Flair as he explained his opinion on the Republican leadership question:

“The great wrestling champion Ric Flair used to say to be the man, you gotta beat the man and so far no one’s had the nerve to step forward and challenge Senator McConnell so I support Senator McConnell, I support the other slate of candidates for our leadership elections.”

Ric Flair recently discussed why he doesn’t think a rumoured showdown between Roman Reigns and The Rock won’t take place at WrestleMania 39.
