Updated WWE WrestleMania 35 Lineup: Three Matches Are Official, Batista Responds to Criticism, WrestleMania Host Announced
There are three matches that are now official for WrestleMania 35 on April 7. We already knew about Brock Lesnar defending the Universal Championship against Seth Rollins and Ronda Rousey defending the Raw Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. Last night on Raw (read about it here), they made another match official.
Triple H and Batista took part in a “Face to Face” confrontation on Monday’s Raw where Triple H was in the ring looking ready for a fight. Batista, the Hollywood movie star who hasn’t competed in a WWE ring in nearly five years, walked out in a suit along with a bunch of indy wrestlers that were his security guys.
Batista, who was spitting into the microphone as he spoke (it was awkward), kept yelling about how Hunter knows what he wants and told Hunter to give him what he wants. Batista said he wanted a match with Triple H at WrestleMania where Batista can retire and he can retire Triple H too. Hunter said fine, you get the match and it’s going to be a No Holds Barred Match.
The Triple H match with Batista drew some criticism from actor Stephen Amell, who wrestled for WWE in the past and also wrestled at “All In” last year. As you can see here, Batista feels like his match with Triple H will add to the card.
Considering that celebrity could actually fuck someone up, and that celebrity is a former 6x heavyweight champ, and that celebrity is there because he loves it, maybe it just adds to the card. Maybe. https://t.co/RGztvWphiQ

Batista turned 50 years old in January and Triple H will turn 50 years old in July. This will likely be Batista’s last match while Triple H will probably continue to wrestle into his 50s because he’s obviously going to continue having a big role behind the scenes in the company.
* In other WrestleMania news, Alexa Bliss announced that the host of WrestleMania will be…Alexa Bliss.
It’s not much of a role, but at least it gets Bliss on the show. It’s a big drop off from being in the Raw Women’s Title match last year.
If you’re wondering, Bliss is not injured. She has been back wrestling at the Raw live events on the weekends, so it’s not a health issue. It is simply a case of WWE’s creative team not having anything for her to do.
* Kurt Angle also announced that WrestleMania will be his last match. No opponent was named. Angle wrestled for the last time in Pittsburgh (his hometown) last night and received a big ovation from the crowd.
It appears as though Roman Reigns will be facing Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania based on what they did on Raw. It may become official next week.
The WrestleMania lineup looks like this right now in terms of official matches:
Raw Women’s Championship: Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch
Universal Championship: Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Seth Rollins
No Holds Barred Match: Triple H vs. Batista
Alexa Bliss is the host of WrestleMania.
I’ll have another WrestleMania lineup post after Smackdown if they add anything to the card. On Friday, I’ll have another look at the WrestleMania news and rumors heading into the biggest WWE event of the year.
