Update On WWE Plans For Rhea Ripley At Backlash
Coming off her big victory over Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania, it seems Rhea Ripley will soon have a direction going in to the next Premium Live Event.
Having picked up the victory in the 2023 Women’s Royal Rumble, Rhea Ripley’s rise as a member of Judgment Day continued. There was plenty of presence for the stable at this year’s ‘Showcase Of The Immortals’, with not only Ripley picking up the SmackDown Women’s Championship, but Dominik Mysterio facing his father Rey, and Finn Balor doing battle with Edge inside Hell In A Cell.
However, despite featured on WWE programming in recent weeks, none of the members of the group have been confirmed for a match at the next Premium Live Event, Backlash. According to a new report, that is about to change.
According to Pro Wrestling Insider Elite, Rhea Ripley is set to face off with Zelina Vega in a defense of her title at the event. The report notes that Vega has been in attendance at recent events even when not used on television – something which the report feels needs to happen soon to kick off soon to build towards the match.
The report also notes that the LWO is currently effectively being manhandled in WWE to help build Judgment Day towards a conflict with Rey Mysterio and Bad Bunny at Backlash, which would also seemingly lead to intertwining a feud between Ripley and Vega.
As it stands neither of those matches are confirmed, with only two matches signed – Cody Rhodes taking on Brock Lesnar, and The Bloodline going up against Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens and Matt Riddle.
