Update On WWE Takeover By Endeavor
The industry-changing takeover of WWE by Endeavor is growing ever closer.
The day after WrestleMania 39 is one that will go down in wrestling history as that is when WWE announced that the company was set to be taken over by Endeavor and merged into a new organisation with UFC.
TKO Group Holdings Inc. will be the new entity overseeing both iconic brands and when the deal is complete Vince McMahon – who had originally retired in July 2022 – will become Executive Chairman of it. Dana White will remain as UFC President while current CEO Nick Khan will become President of the sports entertainment organisation.
When will the Endeavor takeover of WWE be completed?
The latest update on Endeavor’s takeover of WWE has come courtesy of the company’s second quarter financial report for 2023. WWE has boasted record-breaking revenue for the quarter and the report also notes that the takeover is expected to be finalised in the second half of 2023.
The waiting period as related to antitrust legislation expired in June and the takeover will be completed subject to “the satisfaction of customary closing conditions.”
The report also notes that the promotion has already had significant outlay in relation to the ongoing takeover process to the tune of tens of millions of dollars – “The Company’s consolidated pre-tax results included $18.8 million and $25.4 million, respectively, of expenses related to the strategic alternatives review and agreement with Endeavor.”
