Report: Update On Rey Mysterio’s Raw Absence
Following Rey Mysterio’s absence from the most recent edition of WWE Raw, a new report has given an update on the former World Champion.
On the Raw after WrestleMania 38, Dominik and Rey Mysterio were attacked by Veer Mahaan on his long-awaited debut. That assault came hot on the heels of Domink suffering a quick loss to The Miz. While the younger Mysterio gathered himself in the ring, Veer arrived and gave out more punishment. Veer threw Rey out of the way vefore setting his sites on Dominik and locking in a modified Camel Clutch to make his mark.
This led to the announcement that Rey Mysterio would clash with Veer the following week, April 11th. However, the elder Mysterio was missing from the show, and Veer instead took on and defeated Dominik in short order.
Now, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has offered an update on Rey. On Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer reported that the former World Champion was absent because of a “medical issue,” although he went on to say Rey could be back in a week or two.
“He has a medical issue, It’s not false advertising or they changed their mind. He was unavailable tonight. So they put Dominik in his place and Dominik just got destroyed. So, they could probably do Rey in a week or two.”
Dominik and Rey Mysterio have been on something of a losing streak recently as the pair were also defeated by The Miz and Logan Paul at WrestleMania 38.
