Update On Charlotte Flair Returning To WWE
A new update provides some insight into when WWE’s Charlotte Flair may return to television following a long hiatus from the ring.
Charlotte Flair is one of the most successful women’s wrestlers in WWE history. She is a six-time Raw Women’s Champion, six-time Smackdown Women’s Champion, she was the last woman to hold the Divas Title and also held the NXT Women’s Title twice. In addition to that, she was part of the first women’s WrestleMania main event in 2019 along with Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey.
The last time WWE fans saw Flair in the ring was in May 2022 at the WrestleMania Backlash Premium Live Event. At WrestleMania one month earlier, Flair successfully held onto the Smackdown Women’s Title against Ronda Rousey, In their rematch at Backlash, Rousey managed to beat Flair to win the Smackdown Women’s Title in the “I Quit” Match that they had.
Following her loss to Rousey, the storyline excuse for Flair’s absence was that Rousey injured her arm. In reality, Flair got married to Andrade El Idolo in May and has been kept off WWE TV since then.
In the most recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (available via subscription), Dave Meltzer wrote: “Charlotte Flair is scheduled to return soon.”
There wasn’t anything more to it, so “soon” could mean a number of things. With WWE planning major events coming up like Crown Jewel on November 5th and Survivor Series on November 26th, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Flair in time for either of those shows. Considering Survivor Series will feature the first Men’s & Women’s WarGames matches on the WWE main roster, it’s possible that the company could want Flair to be a part of it.
During the recent “WWE’s Most Extreme Moments” countdown show on Fox, Flair was featured on the show saying she was keeping a close eye on Bianca Belair and the Raw Women’s Championship, which could suggest a move to Raw when Flair returns from this break.
In addition to that, Flair’s husband Andrade recently said Charlotte “has time off due to personal reasons and she will specify them in future interviews.” What those reasons are have been kept private.
On Instagram, Flair posted about her new ring collection.
While Flair’s TV return is unknown, she is advertised for a signing at the Big Event New York in Queens, New York on November 12th along with Bianca Belair and Liv Morgan.
