Update On AJ Styles’ WWE Future Amid Departure Rumors
AJ Styles has been loved by fans since debuting in WWE.
His first appearance in the company was at the 2016 Royal Rumble, generating one of the loudest pops ever heard in recent wrestling history.
Since then, the Phenomenal One has been a loyal company representative, competing on both Raw and SmackDown, and winning multiple titles.
The fall of 2024 saw him face an unexpected uncertainty about his future with WWE, but his contract was renewed, giving him and his fans relief.
Styles competed on the latest Raw episode in a triple threat qualifying match for the last Money in the Bank spot against CM Punk and El Grande Americano.
The match was well-received, but Americano pipped his opponents to claim the win.
The past few months have seen several beloved stars being released from the company. As a result, each loss that Styles suffers only adds more to the speculation about his contract.
However, PWInsider Elite reports that the former United States Champion is very much in the scheme of things.
AJ Styles Wrestles CM Punk After 21 Years
AJ Styles wrestled Punk for the first time in 21 years on the recent Raw episode.
Their last clash was in 2004 for the IMA Mid-South Heavyweight Championship.
Mr. Money in the Bank took to Instagram to commemorate this special occasion, jokingly thanking Styles for ‘leaving a boot print on his face.’
CM Punk with a message for AJ Styles after their first match in over 20 years:
“I’ve got a lot on my plate right now but I’ll always make room for you. Thank you for the boot print on my nose. Let’s not wait 21 years for the next time. You’re a legend.”
