Major Update On Drew McIntyre’s WWE Contract Following SNME Defeat

Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre faced Cody Rhodes in a losing effort for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

While many believed that WWE would not have McIntyre dethrone Rhodes, some had hoped that would be the case.

The Scottish Warrior dethroning The American Nightmare would have opened up avenues for other babyfaces to enter the championship storyline against heel McIntyre.

Drew McIntyre’s defeat had nothing to do with his WWE contract

Usually, even a star is favoured to win, but the global juggernaut still books them for a defeat; sometimes it’s because their contract is ending. The Scottish Warrior’s WWE contract is not ending.

As per Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, McIntyre’s contract runs all the way up to 2028.

He had signed a new deal with the Stamford-based promotion in 2024. When it was announced, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was a part of that announcement.

Drew McIntyre has since broken the silence after suffering the loss at the hands of Cody Rhodes.

It is possible McIntyre might be a part of Survivor Series WarGames by joining the heels against CM Punk and his team of babyfaces. Additionally, he might also enter the Last Time Is Now tournament, which is being conducted to determine John Cena’s final opponent.
