Update On AEW Holding 2023 Blood & Guts Match

AEW Blood & Guts

Blood & Guts has been a staple of AEW since the first match of its kind took place in the company back in May 2021.

AEW’s take on a WarGames match was originally set to debut in the spring of 2020 but the COVID pandemic put paid to those plans with the first match of its kind taking place in 2021 when The Pinnacle led by MJF defeated Chris Jericho’s Inner Circle.

The brutal match returned in June 2022 with Chris Jericho now leading his Jericho Appreciation Society into war with the Blackpool Combat Club, Eddie Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz. Claudio Castagnoli picked up the win for his side when he caused Matt Menard to submit on top of the cage.

Now Fightful Select has reported that AEW has a location in mind for a Blood & Guts match in 2023. Those close to the situation believe that Boston is being looked at for the Blood & Guts match. AEW will make its debut in the TD Garden in Boston for both Dynamite and Rampage on July 19th. Given that previous Blood & Guts matches have occurred in May and June, a switch to July seems very possible.

While nothing is confirmed, if a Blood & Guts match is to take place it would likely pit The Elite against The Blackpool Combat Club in a match that could also involve Eddie Kingston and Konosuke Takeshita given current storylines.
