Unfortunate Update On WWE Evolution 2

WWE Evolution is a great opportunity for the female wrestlers to showcase their skills.

The all-women PLE’s inaugural edition experienced tremendous success in 2018. However, it was never revived until now, that is.

That year, the card featured eight matches, with Nikki Bella challenging Ronda Rousey for the women’s championship in the main event.

The Stamford-based company is building up the event to its best ability and has lined up a few matches already.

IYO SKY will defend her title on the red brand against Rhea Ripley, whereas legend Trish Stratus will face Tiffany Stratton for the SmackDown title.

Further, Jade Cargill and Naomi will contest in a No Holds Barred match after the latter’s attack on the July 4 SmackDown episode.

NXT’s Jordynne Grace will challenge champion Jacy Jayne for the belt.

Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez will defend the women’s tag team championships against teams from RAW, SmackDown, and NXT.

The event will also see a battle royal take place, with the winner earning a title shot at Clash in Paris.

WWE Evolution Struggling With Ticket Sales

WWE Evolution occurs on the same weekend as Saturday Night’s Main Event.

While SNME is scheduled on July 12, Evolution 2 is set for July 13. Not to forget, AEW All In: Texas is on July 14.

It is a busy weekend for wrestling fans, and amid all the chaos, the women’s PLE is struggling to find many takers.

According to WrestleTix, 1,578 tickets are yet to be sold, with 4,804 tickets already distributed. One of its reporters also noted:

Based on resale patterns, I’d expect SNME to have more upper deck sections occupied. Evolution, on the other hand, has very little resale activity up there and a significantly lower price point in the lower bowl, so it’s likely anyone with combo tickets in the upper deck will be moved to the lower bowl. The inaugural WWE Evolution, too, had struggled with ticket sales until the day of the event, which could be one of the reasons why it was not revived for a second edition immediately.
