Unfortunate Update On Drew McIntyre Amid WWE Hiatus

Drew McIntyre close up

Drew McIntyre is still on hiatus.

Drew McIntyre has been missing in action since his Steel Cage Match against Damian Priest at Saturday Night’s Main Event in May. While the WWE Universe waits for the Scottish Warrior’s return, it seems unlikely that he will return soon.

According to WrestleVotes, it may be some time before Drew McIntyre returns to WWE programming. His intense feud with Damian Priest, which has been ongoing since WrestleMania XL, seemingly concluded after their recent Steel Cage Match.

Speaking on Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, WrestleVotes stated that there are currently no creative plans lined up for McIntyre. However, they emphasized that this absence is being felt across the product and suggested that once he returns, he should be thrust straight back into the main event scene.

“Nothing on the pipeline recently, which tells me it’s not imminent. When he’s ready, if I was booking, I’d put him right on the top. I think the guy deserves it and you could tell, when he’s not on TV, like as of late, the show is lacking a little bit. So, when he’s ready, you put him right back in that main event scene.”[H/T Sportskeeda]

Does Drew McIntyre Genuinely Dislike CM Punk?

Before his rivalry with Damian Priest caught wind, Drew McIntyre was involved in a personal feud with CM Punk. The two former WWE Champions faced off against each other in three high-profile matches during their recent feud. While McIntyre won the first bout, Punk won the next two, thus ending their on-screen enmity.

In an interview, Drew McIntyre was asked about his feud with CM Punk. The Scottish Warrior addressed the intense rivalry by acknowledging their real-life animosity and admitting the genuine dislike between them. However, McIntyre emphasized that personal issues don’t have to interfere with professional success. He noted that their feud was proof that when two people are great at what they do, personal tension can enhance storytelling.
