Unexpected Update On Nikki Bella’s WWE Future

Nikki Bella

Nikki Bella could find herself in a different role as a WWE superstar.

It has been a comeback year for WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella, who returned to the company at the Royal Rumble and has been in a more regular role since the summer when she competed in the battle royal at the women-only Evolution PLE.

The 42-year-old former 2-time Divas Champion challenged Becky Lynch for the Women’s Intercontinental Title, but failed to win it.

Nikki entered a storyline in which she gained an ally in Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer due to their mutual issues with The Judgment Day’s Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez. However, when she felt it was the right time, Nikki turned heel by attacking Vaquer.

Even though Nikki was 1-3 in singles matches this year (her only win was over Chelsea Green), she was given a Women’s World Title match at Survivor Series. The match was quiet compared to others at the show, and Vaquer went on to retain her title as expected.

It has been reported by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there’s been internal talk in WWE about Nikki moving to more of a heel manager role down the line. There was no specific timeline given for when that might happen.

Nikki Bella Was Worried About A Wardrobe Malfunction At WWE Survivor Series

Since she was in heel mode, Nikki Bella revealed on her podcast that she wanted to change up her look a bit for her Survivor Series match with Vaquer.

“When I talked to my gear guy, I said, it’s time for a change. I’ve been in jerseys forever. I wanna keep it sexy and sporty, but I want it to feel more bad girl.”

“He came to my hotel room, pulls out the bra, and I’m like, ‘Oh, where’s the rest?’ He goes, ‘What do you mean?’ I’m like, ‘It’s a bra.’ He’s like, ‘Yeah, it’s the sketch.’ I was assuming it was a full back. I go, ‘Oh my gosh, I don’t know how I’ll do it.’”

As she continued, Nikki admitted she was so worried about a possible wardrobe malfunction during her match.

“Before I went out there, not only was I fully taped—I got sewn and taped in. I made them sew me in and I said, ‘Can you duct tape me around?’ I got tips from Rhea because she wears bra-inspired gear.

I won’t lie, there were a few moments where I caught myself looking down, because when I bumped, I was like, ‘They’re still in, right!?’ I was just worried about spilling out.”

There were no apparent issues during the match. It’s not known what is next for Nikki Bella, but Stephanie Vaquer will likely move on to face a new challenger for the Women’s World Title on the Raw brand.
