Undisputed Elite Stars Not Expected To Wrestle On AEW Return
With the Undisputed Elite set to be back at full strength on Dynamite with the return of Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly, it might still be a while before they compete.
Injuries have plagued AEW in recent months with top stars such as Bryan Danielson, CM Punk, and Kenny Omega all missing substantial time from the ring. Among the injured stars are Undisputed Elite members Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly who are set to return on Dynamite.
Cole seemingly suffered a concussion during his Owen Hart Cup final against Samoa Joe at Double Or Nothing and having recovered from that in time to compete at Forbidden Door, Cole again reportedly suffered a concussion as well as a torn labrum that will not require surgery.
Kyle O’Reilly’s injury issues remain less clear but he last competed on the 8th of June edition of Dynamite where he lost to Jon Moxley.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez reported that despite AEW advertising the return of Cole and O’Reilly alongside the rest of the Undisputed Elite for Dynamite, Cole and O’Reilly could still miss time from the ring due to their issues:
“We’ve also got Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly, both still out of action. Even though they announced they were going to return on the show Wednesday, they’re returning in a television role and neither of them have been cleared.
“They’re really making sure Adam Cole is 100% before he comes back because he was injured in the Joe match and then he came back and was immediately injured again. He already had a torn labrum and they don’t want him coming back and immediately getting injured again so he’s gonna out be out, still, for a while. I was told he is getting better and Kyle O’Reilly is also going to be out for a little while.”
