Uncertainty Continues To Surround MJF
Is MJF on his way back to AEW?
MJF hasn’t been seen on AEW television since losing the AEW World Championship to Samoa Joe at Worlds End in December. The star went into the match with a legitimately torn labrum as well as a hip injury sustained during his clash with Jay White at Full Gear.
To add to the intrigue, the former World Champion repeatedly hinted he’d be a free agent in 2024, but it’s widely believed that MJF is still under contract with AEW.
As his absence continues, a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider has given a fresh update. Johnson notes that the Salt of the Earth “is still working to recover from his multiple injuries.” Furthermore, despite not being shown on the AEW roster page, he is “locked into a deal” with the company.
Although there’s no word on when he’ll be back, the former Tag Team Champion met with AEW officials following Big Business in March. Despite this, he hasn’t been seen backstage since taking time off in December.
MJF Breaks Social Media Silence
During his break from the ring, MJF also remained away from social media, or at least he did until addressing The Rock.
On April 2nd, Naomi Rosenblum shared a photo of a painting she was working on of The Rock’s recent beatdown of Cody Rhodes. This prompted The Great One to say that he’d like to buy it. The artist in question just so happened to be the x-fiancee of MJF.
In response on social media, the star urged The Rock to leave him alone.
