UFC Star Wants WWE Switch; Sends Message To Triple H
Another UFC-WWE crossover could be on the way.
Since WWE and UFC came under the same TKO banner in 2023, there’s been an increasingly close partnership between the two sides. Several UFC stars have featured on WWE television, with more hinting they’d love to try their luck inside the squared circle.
Now, another name has made a pitch directly to Triple H.
Speaking to DAZN ahead of his fight at UFC 304 against Bobby Green, Paddy Pimblett was asked about potentially appearing for the sports entertainment giant. The lightweight star went on to beat Green in the first round, extending his record to 6-0 since joining UFC.
“Yes, I have thought about that, to be honest,
I have because I used to love the WWE growing up. Shawn Michaels, The Heartbreak Kid is my favorite fighter. I’d love to Sweet Chin Music someone in the cage in the UFC. D-Generation X, when I was even younger, X-Pac was my favorite wrestler.
So yeah, I would. WWE pays big money as well and you’ve got to have a character, you’ve got to have a personality and I’ve got a personality, so it would work. So yeah, Triple H, if you ever wanted to sign me up, just let me know I’ll make an appearance for some cash.”
CM Punk Talks Up WWE/UFC Relationship
The comments from Pimblett came after CM Punk talked up the importance of the relationship between WWE and UFC. The former World Champion said the partnership takes pro wrestling “back to its roots,” adding that there are several similarities between the two companies.
Punk famously endured a less-than-successful stint in the UFC suffering two defeats in two fights. However, the second of these losses was declared a no-contest after his opponent failed a drug test.
