UFC Star Claims Talks With WWE
A UFC heavyweight star has claimed they’re in talks with WWE.
MMA and UFC stars appearing in WWE is nothing new, with the likes of Ronda Rousey, Ken Shamrock, and more finding success. Looking ahead there seems to be even more room for crossover, now that UFC and WWE are both under the same TKO Group umbrella.
Back in February, Michael Chandler appeared to call out Conor McGregor during an episode of Raw, and now Derrick Lewis says he’s been talking with the sports entertainment giant for a “few months.”
While speaking to the media ahead of his fight with Rodrigo Nascimento at UFC Fight Night from St. Louis, Missouri, Lewis was asked about a potential crossover.
“What’s the TKO?………..Oh, yeah, we’re actually in talks right now. We’ve been talking for a few months now. I was supposed to go down there in February to check everything out.”
Derrick Lewis has an MMA record of 27 wins, 12 losses, and one no-contest. The heavyweight star also holds the record for the most knockouts in UFC history.
Ronda Rousey Won’t Be Returning To WWE
While one UFC star might be heading to WWE, another former fighter is seemingly doing everything they can to distance themselves from the company.
In her new autobiography, Ronda Rousey took aim at the company as a whole, Vince McMahon, and a whole host of others, while attempting to explain her defeats in UFC by citing her history with concussions.
Speaking elsewhere the star said she has no intention of returning to WWE, describing the company as a “sh*t show.”
