UFC Champion Wants To Join WWE
One of UFC’s top fighters has set his sights on a WWE move.
After Endeavor officially acquired WWE in September 2023, the company quickly moved to merge the promotion with its other big brand, UFC. The two promotions have joined as the TKO Group, creating opportunities for UFC stars to appear in WWE and vice versa.
At a 2024 WWE live show in his hometown of Manchester, England, current Interim UFC Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall made an appearance in the ring alongside Cody Rhodes. While the pair were interrupted by both Gunther and Chad Gable, Aspinall wasn’t able to get physical, something he hopes to change once his fighting career is over.
Speaking to Logan Paul on his Impaulsive podcast, Aspinall was positive about his experience at the event, and explained that UFC didn’t allow him to throw any punches while he was there. When it comes to his future, the star says he would “really enjoy” making a move to WWE.
“Honestly, I went [to a show], and my personality is not this whole bravado thing, but I went and I actually met the guys who are involved with WWE – the wrestlers and the staff – and I was like, I like this. I like it a lot.”
“And I got in the ring, we had a little cameo for me. I didn’t actually get to wrestle because the UFC put the blockers on that a little bit. I thought maybe they’d let me throw one or two punches, but they didn’t let me.”
“But I would absolutely… that’s something that I would really enjoy doing, just as a little outlet when I’ve finished fighting.”
Tom Aspinall Wants To Team With Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes
After he retires, Tom Aspinall has ambitions to team up with Cody Rhodes. He already has opponents in mind, saying he and The American Nightmare should take on John Cena and Jon Jones in a blockbuster match.
