UFC Boss Dana White Stays Quiet On WWE Move To Las Vegas

Dana White Triple H WWE

UFC boss Dana White has offered his only comment so far amid rumours that WWE was set to join his company in Las Vegas.

Since its creation in 2013, the Performance Center has been a huge success. Several of the company’s biggest names honed their craft at the facility, and it’s proven invaluable for established stars who look to shape up their skills or prepare to return to television after an injury layoff.

But the future of the facility was thrown into doubt on August 27th when WrestleVotes reported WWE was looking to move it from Orlando, Florida to Las Vegas.

According to a source there was an all employee meeting today at WWE HQ in Stamford hosted by Mark Shapiro. I’m told the biggest news to come out of the meeting is that the WWE Performance Center will be moving to Las Vegas in the near future.

However, that might not be the case after all. According to an update from Fightful Select, the announcement from Shapiro simply didn’t happen. The report cited “one WWE source reached out quickly to say didn’t happen unless there was another meeting held.” Other sources noted that there was no announcement from the TKO Group COO.

Sources were said to be shocked at the initial report, highlighting how close many talents live to the PC, and how easy it is for main roster stars to access.

Many had presumed that any move to Las Vegas would make sense given WWE’s sister company UFC’s presence in the city but Dana White has no knowledge of anything to do with it.

Dana White Leaving WWE To Their Business

Appearing at the Post-Fight Press Conference following Dana White’s Contender Series on August 27th, the UFC President was asked about the possible move by WWE but had nothing to say on the matter:

It’s none of my business. I know nothing about it. It’s none of my business. Let the WWE talk about their business.

In a post on social media, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer added that Shapiro didn’t say developmental was moving to Las Vegas.

Those in WWE said at meeting Shapiro talked about Vegas, growth of Vegas as a sports market in recent years and that WWE should have a presence. Didn’t say developmental moving there.

In a follow-up to their initial report, WrestleVotes continued to stand by the story and its source.
