And new! Tyrus is your NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion!

Located in New Orleans, Billy Corgan’s National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) would their Hard Times 3 pay-per-view, with the main event being a triple-threat match seeing Trevor Murdoch defending his NWA World’s Heavyweight Championship against Tyrus and Matt Cardona.

When the smoke cleared, it was Tyrus holding the strap, celebrating with the other title holders that are featured in Austin Idol’s faction, Jordan Clearwater and Cyon, and that’s how NWA Hard Times 3 would close out.

This is the first major world championship that he has ever won in his career, previously having a stint in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) as Brodus Clay, and he would also have a run in IMPACT Wrestling.

Prior to NWA’s Hard Times 3, Tyrus held the NWA TV Championship, however, he would end up forfeiting the belt in order to be a part of the pay-per-view main event for the NWA World’s Heavyweight Championship, and it ended up paying off as he is now the new champion.
Praising Tyrus for his work ethic, NWA owner Billy Corgan also made another move recently against Nick Aldis, removing him as the No. 1 contender for the top belt in the company prior to NWA 74. Now, Nick Aldis is leaving National Wrestling Alliance.
