Two Stars Are Outshining NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez

Roxanne Perez poses with the NXT Women's Title

Roxanne Perez might be falling down the pecking order.

NXT boss Shawn Michaels has been earning significant praise in recent months for highlighting the women’s division. The show regularly features multiple women’s matches and the division now boasts some of the most talented young wrestlers in North America.

To add even more star power to the division, WWE’s third brand is now also home to Giulia, Stephanie Vaquer, and Aussie sensation Zaria.

During a special AMA episode of her Paving The Way podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Madusa gave her thoughts on the NXT women’s division. The veteran was quick to heap praise on Vaquer and Giulia, noting they’ve started to out-shine Perez.

“Stephanie is, I mean, she’s different, definitely. I think with those two together, are going to be a great tag team. They can do it individually. So I don’t know what the reasoning is to bring them together. I mean, it’d be great for them to duel each other.

There’s just so many different ways you can go with it, both talent, I mean it, they’re going to outshine — I think both of those two could outshine Perez right now. Perez is hot because she’s been carrying it and they’ve put a lot of time and money [in her]. I just think that Guilia and Stephanie outshine Perez now.”

Madusa went on to praise Sol Ruca for her in-ring skills but suggested she’d like to see more character development.

“I think that Sol Ruca is a great gymnast wrestler, some great moves, but I’d like to see more of a build with her as far as the character, now, her character, I get who she is and what she is and what she’s about, but I’d like to see more of the wrestling, the psychology and the not just so many moves, but more of the selling and the getting into it type of thing. I could see her getting into the Julia and Stephanie format, if they start boosting her.”

Roxanne Perez Part Of New WWE Four Horsewomen

During a recent interview, Roxanne Perez agreed with the idea that she’s formed one-quarter of the new Four Horsewomen of NXT with Giulia, Stephanie Vaquer, and Cora Jade. Perez added that NXT currently has the greatest women’s division in the world and the quartet has been a huge part of that.

Perez won the NXT Women’s Title for a record-equalling second time at Stand & Deliver 2024 with a win over Lyra Valkyria. Since then she’s defended the title on eight occasions, most recently against Giulia on the October 1st edition of NXT.
