Word on the street is that Austin Theory is no longer with WWE. But is that true?

Austin Theory has been notably absent from WWE since his last match on the July 14 taping of Main Event, where he lost to El Grande Americano. His last match on television was on the May 5 edition of Raw, where she suffered a loss to Sheamus. Fans have speculated wildly about the reason for his disappearance, especially since WWE quietly broke up his faction with Grayson Waller, known as A-Town Down Under.

On the July 21 episode of Raw, Waller announced that Theory was out due to injury, and the tag team had officially dissolved. Theory was then removed from the internal active roster page. There is no official word from WWE on this matter, but speculation is running rampant about a possible release. His absence and the faction’s breakup have left fans questioning his future role in WWE programming.

An insider report from Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio recently shed some light on the situation, revealing that Austin Theory is not benched or released. Meltzer clarified that A-Town Down is actually placed on the company’s internal injury list and confirmed that he remains under contract and the company still has plans for him. The nature and severity of his injury remain undisclosed.

Grayson Waller Wants To Join WWE Faction The New Day

Grayson Waller has shifted his alliance to The New Day following the breakup of A-Town Down Under with Austin Theory. On the July 21, 2025, episode of WWE Raw, Waller made his intention clear by approaching The New Day and announcing that A-Town Down Under was over due to Theory’s injury. Waller expressed relief at being free from the partnership, jokingly referring to A-Town Down as “dead weight” and positioning himself to join the veteran faction.

The New Day, originally composed of Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, and Big E, has evolved over time, especially after Kingston and Woods turned heel and ousted Big E. Waller’s attempt to integrate into The New Day has met with some resistance but he’s been trying to win them over.
