Truth About Darby Allin’s Hospital Stay As Injury Concerns Grow

Darby Allin

Did AEW star Darby Allin really spend a week in the hospital? And what spot was it that finally stopped the star in his tracks?

Darby Allin has entertained and sickened in equal measures with his wild antics in AEW. Allin was sent through a flaming table during the Blood & Guts match, and he’s been nearly drowned in recent months by Jon Moxley and the Death Riders.

AEW announced that Darby Allin was in the hospital and was not cleared to compete, and it turns out, it was a relatively normal wrestling move that may have proved to be his demise.

Darby Allin Home From The Hospital

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez explained what he had heard about Allin’s situation and confirmed he did spend time in the hospital for a very real injury:

Somebody tweeted that he’d been in the hospital for a week, but that’s not quite true. What happened was, he got hurt in the Kevin Knight match last week. The spot that looked the scariest was the coast-to-coast dropkick; he got smashed with that move. I don’t know if that’s the move where he got hurt, but he was in the hospital for a while. They did clear him because he ended up going home, so he can travel, and he’s out of the hospital.

He might stay in the tournament; he might not, they have to figure that out in the next few days and see how he’s doing.

Darby Allin is part of the Gold League in the Continental Classic and lost his first match in the tournament to Knight.
