Truth About John Cena’s Interest In Joining AEW Revealed

John Cena WWE Farewell

Has John Cena’s camp really contacted AEW? The truth has finally come out.

The Leader of the Cenation is set to retire from in-ring competition this December. Last January, the 48-year-old embarked on his retirement tour.

Although The Never Seen 17 turned heel at Elimination Chamber, he flipped back to babyface ahead of his Undisputed WWE Championship match against Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam amid huge criticism of his run as a villain. The WWE legend even admitted it did not work as expected.

Ahead of his match against AJ Styles at Crown Jewel, the 17-time world champion was squashed by Brock Lesnar in a bout that many believed fell flat.

John Cena’s Never Contacted AEW

Over the past few weeks, rumors suggested that John Cena’s camp had contacted AEW due to the former Undisputed WWE Champion being disappointed in his farewell tour.

Fightful Select has recently disclosed the truth about these rumors. According to the report, no sources in Tony Khan’s promotion have heard anything about Cena’s camp reaching out. Hence, the rumors are untrue.

Cena has been in WWE for 25 years. He joined the Stamford-based company in 2000 and moved to the main roster two years later. While the 48-year-old moving to AEW would be a massive step for Tony Khan’s promotion, it is hardly believable since the now-Hollywood star has made it clear he has no intention of ever wrestling again after December.
