The truth has now been revealed about an AEW star’s supposed torn bicep.

AEW’s injured list had a mixed night at Forbidden Door with a couple of major returns on that show. Jamie Hayter returned to save Queen Aminata from the Triangle of Madness. Hayter had been taken out on-screen by a debuting Thekla earlier in the summer, but the reality is that the English star suffered an injury during her Double Or Nothing match against Mercedes Mone.

Later in the show, Wardlow shocked everyone when he returned to attack Prince Nana and join The Don Callis Family. That came after Kazuchika Okada had retained his AEW Unified Championship against Swerve Strickland. Strickland was written off TV after that match with an attack on his knee. But that paled with what was to come in the main event.

AEW’s Resident Smart Mark Undergoing Surgery

Will Ospreay, Kota Ibushi, Kenny Omega, Darby Allin, and Hiroshi Tanahashi defeated the Death Riders and the Young Bucks in a lights out steel cage match. After the bout, Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli trapped Ospreay alone in the cage and laid him out with multiple DDTs before they wrapped a chair around Ospreay’s neck and stomped on it. Ospreay is believed to be out of action until well into next year.

Now there’s another name on the injured list as Fightful Select has confirmed that “Smart” Mark Sterling has suffered a legitimate torn biceps. Sterling is scheduled to undergo surgery to repair the tear on the 11th of September. It’s also noted that there are hopes in AEW and Ring of Honor that Sterling will return to TV in a matter of weeks despite the fact that he won’t be cleared for any physicality.
